Turnover was the newsletter of the People's Food System, a Bay Area network of food collectives that provided cheap organic produce from 1973 to 1978. The People's Food System employed returning citizens and Central American refugees in its numerous stores and support collectives across San Francisco and the East Bay. The People's Food System put its radical politics into practice by offering an alternative to the environmental/health impacts and exploitation involved in globalized food systems. Turnover covers a wide range of topics from the struggle for food justice in prisons to nourishing recipes.
